Our Story

Hello, I am Dr. Sonali Dasgupta, founder of STEMonsters.
This is my story from being a global researcher for 15+ years to building the STEMonsters Education platform.

After my PhD from IIT Delhi in India, I worked across corporate and academic labs worldwide. Returning to India, I recognized that the textbook curriculum even today has not evolved to keep pace with the increasingly STEM-driven world. The approach to studies is still very much focused on marks and not understanding. I was shocked to read that of the 1000,000 engineers graduating in India every year, only 8% are considered employable!

With the dual responsibility of being a mother to an incredibly curious child, I was determined to do something that would change the future prospects of the next generation. And that is how STEMonsters was born – a learning ecosystem for children where they imbibe skills needed to build a successful career in STEM, without the stress of marks and boundaries of subjects.

Through a blend of interactive experiments, application-focused projects, and mentorship from STEM career experts, the STEMonsters programs serve as a roadmap from textbook learning to a successful career in STEM.

Founder's Note

STEM education is crucial for every student irrespective of their choice of career at a later stage. The world is going to be technology-driven in every aspect, be it arts or science. STEM Education empowers the children with the confidence to harness these tools and propel their work forward.

STEM Education is not a sprint. It is a marathon that requires practice, persistence, and determination if one wants to reach the final destination – mastery to learn, adapt, and succeed.

Our hands-on education approach goes beyond textbooks by immersing them in experiential projects and real-world connections. They develop a strong conceptual understanding that is complemented by a scientific mindset and problem-solving skills to confidently navigate tomorrow’s challenges.
