SUMMER ONLINE WORKSHOP
Arduino Uno Foundations: Basics of physical computing/ robotics
- Date: 15 April – 29 May, 2024
- Days: Every Wednesday and Thursday (20 sessions)
- Time: 7:00pm – 8:00pm IST
- Cost: INR 19,000 (cost of kit included)
Designed for students in Grade 7 and above, ready to unlock the potential of this versatile platform, this module covers the fundamentals of electronics and physical computing, control and programming with the Arduino Uno.
In this module, participants will:
• SImple Electronics: Begin with understanding of a breadboard and basic electronics components.
• Get to Know Arduino Uno: Begin with the essentials of physical computing. Learn about Arduino Uno, its key concepts, structures, and programming terminology. This will provide a solid foundation for further exploration.
• Control Outputs: Write code to manage various output devices. Using the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE), you will be able to make LEDs blink, buzzers sound, and motors run. Experience the thrill of seeing your code control physical components.
• Work with Sensors: Discover how to read data from different sensors. Work with IR sensors and ultrasound sensors to gather data and use it to control outputs. Create projects that respond to their environment, such as turning on a light when it gets dark or sounding an alarm when something is too close.
• Practical Applications: Engage in projects that integrate all these elements. By the end of the course, you’ll have a portfolio showcasing your skills in electronics and physical computing.
This module is about more than just coding; it is about understanding how to make things work in the real world. Whether you want to build your own gadgets or understand the technology around you, this course is the perfect starting point.
