Newsletter August 2020

My Reflections…

Its been a while since I published the last newsletter. And so much has happened in these few weeks. We had our first Experiments Showcase Day where children took over the role of the teacher. In the first episode of this quarterly event, 4 children identified an experiment of their choice, conceived the demonstration and explained it to a live audience of other club members AND their parents. We covered topics ranging from carbohydrate identification to self-watering siphon system. It was an extraordinary display of enthusiasm, planning, confidence and communication skills from the youngsters. We also launched our Facebook and Instagram pages, which showcases the world of wonder that we celebrate at the C2L Club, during or beyond the sessions themselves.

From a modest family of 4 about 4 months ago, today we are a family of 20! This has been possible due to the immense support and belief of all the parents, and this is what keeps me going. Every time a child comes up and says that he/she wants the sessions to be happening every day of the week or that he/she found somthing incredibly interesting while out for a walk, I consider it a victory. I wanted this newsletter to be a celebration of all the things that we have acheived in this short span of time, especially for the kids who started out on this journey with me from Day 0.

This is a quote that always stays with me and I try to abide by: “I would rather have questions that cant be answered than answers that cant be questioned”  – Richard Feynman (one of the greatest physicist and teachers till date)
