We were discussing the International Space Station (ISS) and life on it. ISS is just full of intrigue, wonder, surprizes and possibilities!
We explored the journey of the astronaut from Earth all the way to the ISS and what “normal” life on ISS is like – sleeping, eating, drinking, cooking and performing experiments! It takes about 9 minutes for the rocket to escape Earth’s pull and about a day to dock (get attached) on the ISS.
Crew Dragon Space Shuttle 2020 took about 24 hours to dock a couple of weeks ago!
This is when a child asked a very logical question – If the ISS is ALWAYS orbiting the Earth, does it imply that the astronauts never get any rest? Do they have to steer it at all times in order to prevent it from falling back on Earth?!
And therein opens up the wide world of forces and motion! Curiosity in children is almost infinite if ignited and stimulated properly – it’s the natural gateway to strong fundamentals for life ?
